Get Help for a Child or Family in the Child Welfare System
WCFC serves foster children and families, as well as other children and families in need, who are currently involved with the Wayne County Child Protective Services and/or Foster Care system.
We accept requests on behalf of Detroit-area families and children from the following child protective and foster care professionals:
- Michigan Department of Human Services caseworkers or supervisors
- Representatives of children's foster care agencies or residential facilities contracted by the Michigan Department of Human Services
- Attorneys and child advocates representing children or families before Wayne County’s 3rd Circuit Court.
- Judges or referees of the 3rd Circuit Court.
Note: Please have the case information, name/s of the child or children, P-numbers, and caseload numbers handy, as this information may be required on your request. Thank you!

“Shop” at Our Help Closet
FTSG's Help Closet is full of new/nearly-new items including furniture, clothing for all ages, toys, books, and more. The Help Closet is located in the Samaritan Center Annex at 11457 Shoemaker Street in Detroit.
Hours of operation are: Monday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM; Tuesday 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM or by appointment.
